CAL-ICWA highlights of 2006:

-Appointed new Director of Operations, Nanette L. Gledhill

-Completed draft Bylaws

-Director of Operations was appointed to Citizens Review Panel with 3 other Tribal Delegates

-Facilitated Meetings to Sustain the American Indian Unit in Los Angeles County

-Facilitated Discussions Concerning Recruiting Rural Parents for Indian Children and California Tribes

-Participated in ICWA Roundtable Meetings in Mendocino and Lake Counties

-Participated in Washoe Tribal Building Partnerships Meetings

-CAL-ICWA will Participate in MOU Negotiations between Washoe Tribal TANF and Sacramento County

-Participation in Sacramento Native American Roundtable Meetings

-CAL-ICWA will soon be Facilitating Discussions between the Tribal Community and Humboldt County Child Welfare to Negotiate an MOU

-CAL-ICWA Receives funding from the California Wellness Foundation to Address Issues with Transitional Aged Foster Youth whom are Native American
